In antiquity, Fordongianus was called Forum Trajani in honour of Roman emperor Trajan, who is credited with the building of what are now considerable Roman remains, including those of a bridge, and of thermae on a scale of great magnificence. The city, in the interior of Sardinia, is known from the Itineraries, which place it on the road from Tibula, through the interior of the island, to Othoca. Fordongianus sits on the left bank of the river Tirsi (ancient Thyrsus), about 25 km from Oristano. A valid credit card is necessary to book at Sardegna Grand Hotel Terme. The card will not be charged but it will be validated against the amount of the penalty. The card will be charged in case of late cancellation or no show. Cancellations can be processed without penalty up until 7 days prior to arrival. The penalty is equivalent to 50 pct of the entire booking. Children aged up to 3, sleeping in same bed with 2 parents, are free of charge. Children between 3 and 12 can have the special child rate. Children aged 12 or more are charged as adults.
